Plans are sized by technicians, nothing else
Every Pool Founder plan includes unlimited customers, service locations, routes, and invoices — the only thing that changes between plans is how many technicians you can have. Current prices are on the pricing page.
The plans
| Plan | Technicians |
|---|---|
| Solo | Up to 1 technician |
| Team (most popular) | Up to 3 technicians |
| Growth | Up to 6 technicians |
| Pro | Up to 10 technicians |
| Enterprise | Unlimited technicians (custom pricing) |
See the pricing page for current prices. Plan management lives on the Settings page in your dashboard.
The 30-day free trial
Every new account starts with a 30-day free trial. During the first two weeks, the Overview page shows a dismissible "Want a hand getting set up?" card offering a free 15-minute setup call — see book a setup call.
One thing the trial can't do: connect Stripe for live card processing — that requires an active paid subscription. Everything else you build during the trial is saved. See accept online payments.
During the trial, the Settings page shows a Free Trial card with your start date, end date, and days remaining, plus an Upgrade to Paid Plan button. Trials on the Enterprise plan see a Book a Call with Sales button instead — Enterprise is activated with sales rather than self-serve.
Add-on: a business phone line ($15/mo per line)
The one add-on is a business phone line at $15/mo per line — a published business number of your own that customers call and text, instead of forwarding to a hidden line. It's added to your existing subscription and prorated from the day you turn it on, and it's what unlocks texting. AI call answering is included in every plan and needs no add-on — the free "Keep my number" call-forwarding path answers calls too. See phone setup.
Once you have a business line, the Current Plan card on Settings lists it under Add-ons: "Business phone line — $15/mo, billed with your subscription, on the same card." Accounts that had a business number before the add-on existed show it as Free — included with your account.
Your plan status on the Settings page
The Current Plan card on Settings shows your plan, its monthly price, and a status line:
- Active — the normal state; your subscription is in good standing.
- Payment Pending — an upgrade or subscription is waiting on payment; complete the payment to activate it.
- Active - Canceling on {date} — a cancellation is scheduled; you keep full access until that date.
Upgrading your plan
- The Upgrade Plan card on Settings shows your current plan and the tiers above it. Click Upgrade on a plan, confirm your card in the secure payment step, and click Complete Upgrade — the subscription updates immediately and you're charged the prorated difference.
- The Enterprise card shows Contact Sales instead — Enterprise pricing is custom.
- Adding a technician past your plan's limit opens the same upgrade flow right from the Employees page — see Employees, time & payroll.
There is no self-serve downgrade — the grid only shows higher tiers. To move to a smaller plan, contact support at support@poolfounder.com.
Cancel and reactivate
- The Cancel Subscription card on Settings cancels your plan. The confirmation explains the terms: your subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period, then cancels — there's no refund for the current period. Choose Keep Subscription to back out.
- After confirming, the plan card reads "Active - Canceling on {date}" and a Reactivate Subscription button appears — click it any time before the date to undo the cancellation and continue as before.
- While a cancellation is scheduled, the Upgrade Plan card is hidden — reactivate first if you want to change plans.
Update the card Pool Founder bills you on
- 1Open Settings and find the Billing card — it shows the card on file (brand, last 4 digits, and expiry).
- 2Click Update Card, enter the new card, and click Save Card.
- 3The new card is used for your Pool Founder subscription going forward.
This is your company's own subscription card — completely separate from your customers' payment methods. Updating it doesn't touch customer billing in any way. Trial companies don't see a card here yet; the card is collected when converting to a paid plan.
Canceling or deleting your account
Canceling your subscription is self-serve — see "Cancel and reactivate" above. Inside the app, customers, jobs, and routes are archived rather than permanently deleted, so history is never lost by accident. For permanent data deletion, contact support at support@poolfounder.com.
Frequently asked questions
Do any plans limit customers, routes, or invoices?
No — all plans include unlimited customers, service locations, routes, and invoices. Plans differ only in technician count.
How much do the plans cost?
Plans are priced by technician count — Solo (1), Team (up to 3), Growth (up to 6), Pro (up to 10), and Enterprise (unlimited, custom pricing). See the pricing page at poolfounder.com/pricing for current prices.
Does updating my subscription card affect my customers' saved cards?
No — the card on the Settings Billing card is only what Pool Founder bills your subscription on. Your customers' payment methods are completely separate.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Use the Cancel Subscription card on the Settings page. Your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period, and you can click Reactivate Subscription any time before then to undo it. For permanent data deletion, contact support at support@poolfounder.com.
