Most pool service companies sell the same handful of packages over and over: weekly full service, biweekly cleaning, chemical-only. Pool Founder now lets you define each of those once as a job template, then spin up a new pool from it in seconds instead of re-entering the rate, billing schedule, chemicals, and task list every time.
Templates live under Job Templates in the dashboard, and you can jump straight there from anywhere with Cmd+K. Each template captures pricing, billing mode, frequency, included chemicals, pass-through fees, and the visit task checklist, so every new job starts fully configured.
A Full-Page Template Editor
Templates now open in a full-page editor instead of a cramped dialog, so the entire job setup is editable in one place. Everything you would configure on a real job is here:
- Rate and billing mode
- Billing schedule (how and when the customer is charged)
- Included chemicals and how they are billed
- Whether card processing fees are passed through
- The visit task checklist
- Default notes
When you create a maintenance job, click Load template at the top of the form to prefill it, then tweak anything that is specific to that pool. Loading a template no longer overwrites a job name you have already typed.
Save an Existing Job as a Template
Already have a maintenance job configured exactly the way you like it? Open the job and click Save as template, next to Archive. Pool Founder prefills the template name from the job, lets you add an optional description, and builds the template from the job's current rate, billing, included chemicals, fees, and tasks. There is nothing to re-enter.
Save as template is available on maintenance jobs. Work order templates are built directly in the template editor.
Push Template Changes to Open Jobs
By default, editing a template only affects future jobs. Jobs already created from it stay exactly as they are, so a small pricing tweak does not quietly reprice your whole book. When you do want a change to ripple out, the editor tells you how many open jobs use the template and offers an opt-in checkbox to apply changes to open jobs before you save.
The opt-in updates the financial parts of each linked job while leaving per-job customizations alone:
- Pushed out - rate, billing mode, billing schedule, chemical billing, and pass-through fees.
- Left untouched - job-specific details like preferred days, per-job tasks, notes, and route assignments.
Work Orders, Quotes, and Housekeeping
Job Templates covers two kinds of work. Maintenance templates hold recurring pricing and frequency. Work Order Templates hold one-off job setups: line items, discounts, a task checklist, and deposit and fee defaults. Both live under the same page, split by Maintenance and Work Order tabs.
Building a maintenance quote? Use the same Load template button to pull in a job template. When the customer accepts and the quote converts to a job, the template link carries over so your usage numbers stay accurate.
Each template card shows how many active jobs use it and when it was last used. And the page stays tidy: search templates by name, sort the list, duplicate a template as a starting point for a new one, and archive offerings you no longer sell (with a restore option) instead of deleting them outright.
