Rural Routes and New Builds, Finally on the Map
Pool Founder now lets you save a service location even when Google has never heard of the address. If the map service can't pin the address automatically, or returns the wrong spot, you drop a pin exactly where the pool sits and Pool Founder stores those coordinates for routing.
New construction, rural service routes, and freshly platted streets are the usual culprits. The address is real and the pool is real, but Google's index hasn't caught up. Instead of forcing a bad match or blocking the save, the address confirmation step now hands you a map.
When the Address Won't Resolve
Whenever you add a customer or service location and Pool Founder can't automatically pin the address, a confirmation step opens before the record saves. What it shows depends on what Google knows about the address you typed.
- If Google has close matches, you see a short list of them with a map preview. Pick the one that is actually right and save.
- If Google returns nothing at all, the step skips straight to a map with a draggable pin.
You can reach the pin picker from the match list too. If none of the suggested addresses are correct, choose "None of these match — drop a pin on the map instead."
Drop the Pin Yourself
On the pin view, the map opens zoomed to the right neighborhood. Pool Founder runs a lighter lookup on the city, state, and ZIP so you start near the property instead of the middle of the country. Drag the pin, or tap anywhere on the map, to place it directly over the pool. The selected coordinates show below the map as you move it, and you save with a single confirmation.
If the map itself won't load, usually because a browser extension or ad blocker is getting in the way, the step falls back to two fields for latitude and longitude. You can still enter coordinates by hand and save the location.
Why the Exact Spot Matters
Every route Pool Founder builds, and every optimization it runs, works from each location's coordinates and the drive times between stops. An address that landed on the wrong block, or defaulted to a city center, quietly throws off drive-time estimates, stop order, and arrival windows for the whole route. Pinning the real location keeps routing and optimization honest.
This carries over to editing, too. If you change an address later, Pool Founder rechecks it. The coordinates from the old address are cleared as soon as the typed address changes, so the confirmation step runs again and the pin follows the pool to its new spot.
