Reorder Your Route from Your Phone, Plus a Smarter Route Map

Pool Founder's technician mobile app adds drag-and-drop stop reordering, redesigned stop cards, and a route map that draws the day from the technician's live GPS with editable start and end locations.

Give Your Techs Control of the Order

Pool Founder's technician mobile app now lets your field techs reorder their own stops with drag-and-drop, right from their phone. If a gate is locked or a customer asks them to come back later, the tech drags the stop where it needs to go and keeps moving, no call to the office required.

The stop cards were also redesigned for narrow phone screens, and the Map tab now draws the day from where the technician actually is.

Drag-and-Drop Reordering on the Stops Tab

On the Stops tab, remaining stops are numbered and each card has a drag handle on its right edge. The technician presses the handle and drags the card to a new position. The list holds the new order immediately, even on a spotty connection, and syncs when it can.

Completed and skipped stops move down below the remaining work under a Done section and cannot be reordered, so the drag list only ever contains the stops still ahead of the tech. The View button on any card opens its details.

Drag-and-drop sits next to the existing Optimize button: use Optimize to resequence the remaining stops by drive time, and drag when the tech already knows the order they want.

Reorder Before the Day Starts, and on Future Dates

The route no longer has to be started before a tech can arrange it. Reordering now works in three situations:

  • Before the route starts - drag stops on the Stops tab and the order is saved for the day. The route picks it up the moment the tech hits Start.
  • While the route is running - drag to resequence the stops still ahead; the live route updates in place.
  • On a future date - switch the Stops tab to Upcoming, pick a date, and drag. That day's order is saved without touching today's route.

Future days can also be reordered from the Routes tab. Tap a route occurrence to open its day, then drag stops by the handle. Handles appear there only for days that have not started yet; a running route is reordered from the Stops tab instead.

Redesigned Stop Cards

The stop cards got a cleaner layout built for one-handed use in the field. Each stop shows a numbered chip so the tech can see where it falls in the day, and the actions are now explicit labeled buttons instead of a whole-card tap.

  • View opens the stop details (it reads View Service once a stop is completed).
  • Make Next jumps a stop to the front of the remaining list in one tap.
  • Service, Skip, and the other actions are unified into consistent pills that fit two per row on narrow devices.

A Smarter Route Map

On the Map tab, today's route now begins at the technician's live GPS position rather than a fixed depot, so the line shows the drive from where they actually are to the next stop. For other days, it begins at the route's configured start location.

The map also shows Start and End marker pills. Tapping either opens a Route Locations sheet where the technician can search a new address and Save to change their own route's start or end location, no admin access required. Admins can still set any route's start and end from the route's page on the web dashboard.

The route path is drawn with one color per leg, matching the palette on the web dashboard map, and the stop chips are colored to match. The final leg back to the end location is green.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the route have to be started before a tech can reorder stops?

No. Techs can drag stops into a new order before the route starts, while it is running, and on future dates. A reorder done before the day begins is saved as that day's custom order, and the route uses it the moment the tech hits Start.

Where do techs reorder a route that is already running?

From the Stops tab, which edits the live route in place. On the Routes tab, drag handles appear only for days that have not started yet, so a running route is always resequenced from the Stops tab.

Can a technician change their route's start and end locations from the app?

Yes. On the Map tab, tap the Start or End marker to open the Route Locations sheet, search for a new address, and Save. This changes the technician's own route only and does not require admin permission. Admins can still edit any route's start and end from the web dashboard.

What happens to completed and skipped stops when reordering?

They move below the remaining work into a Done section and cannot be dragged. Only the stops still ahead of the technician appear in the reorderable list.
