Inventory You Can Actually Audit
Every chemical in Pool Founder now has a Usage History. Open any chemical from Inventory > Chemicals and scroll down to see a dated log of every visit that drew it down, the exact quantity used, which customer and job it went to, and which technician logged it. When your barrel of acid runs low three weeks early, you can finally answer the only question that matters: where did it go?
Until now, chemical stock was a single running number that went up when you restocked and down as techs logged usage in the field. That number is only trustworthy if you can trace it. Usage History turns the tally into a ledger you can read line by line and reconcile against what is actually on the shelf.
Every Draw-Down, Tied to a Visit
The Usage History card lists each time a chemical was logged on a completed job, newest first. Every entry shows what a shrinking inventory number never could:
- Quantity used in the chemical's own unit (gallons, pounds, tablets)
- Customer and job the chemical was applied to
- Technician who logged it during the visit
- Date of the service visit
Each entry is clickable. Tap a row and it takes you straight to that job, where you can pull up the visit in the completion history and see the full checklist, water chemistry readings, photos, and every other chemical logged on the same stop. If a number looks wrong, you are one click from the source instead of digging through completed jobs by hand.
Usage History reads from the same job completions your technicians already fill out in the field. There is nothing extra to enter and nothing to turn on. The log builds itself as visits are completed.
Honest Numbers: Negative Stock and Fractional Quantities
Two smaller changes ship alongside the history, and both are about telling you the truth instead of a tidy fiction.
First, negative stock is now shown rather than hidden. Previously, if techs logged more of a chemical than the system thought you had, stock was quietly clamped to zero. That masked a real problem: your counts were off, or a restock never got entered. Now the actual number is displayed, negative and all, so you can see exactly how far underwater a chemical is and go fix the record.
Second, fractional quantities are fully supported. Chemical stock, low-stock thresholds, and the Add and Remove inventory forms all accept decimals now, so you can restock 2.5 gallons or record half a pound without rounding. Real pool chemistry does not happen in whole numbers, and your inventory no longer forces it to.

Where do I find a chemical's usage history?

Why does one of my chemicals show a negative stock number?
Negative stock means technicians have logged more usage than the system has on record as purchased. Rather than hide it at zero, Pool Founder shows the actual negative number so you can see exactly how far underwater you are. It usually means a restock was never entered or a starting count was off. Use the Add inventory form to correct it.
Can I enter partial or fractional amounts?
Yes. Stock quantities, low-stock thresholds, and the Add and Remove inventory forms accept decimals, so you can record amounts like 0.5 or 2.5 instead of rounding to whole units.
