Bill Before You Pull Out of the Driveway
Billing used to wait until someone was back at a laptop. Now it does not have to. The Pool Founder technician app lets you create, view, and edit invoices right from your phone, so an extra repair or a one-off charge gets billed while you are still standing at the pool.
Whoever you have given invoice access to, whether that is you as the owner or an office manager working from the truck, can now handle the whole invoice from the field instead of writing a note to deal with it later.
Create an Invoice at the Pool
In the technician app, open the Actions list and tap Create Invoice. Pick the customer and their service location, then add one or more line items with amounts. You can also add discounts, notes that show on the invoice, and a due date, or leave the due date on your company default.
Then choose how it gets billed. Charge one of the customer's saved payment methods right away, or choose Send Invoice to email them a pay link instead. The button at the bottom reads Create & Charge or Create & Send Invoice depending on what you picked, so there is no guessing about what happens when you tap it.
Creating an invoice needs an internet connection because it may charge a card the moment you submit. When you are offline the button shows "Offline — reconnect to invoice" and waits until you have signal again.
Find and Open Any Invoice
The same Actions list has an Invoices option that opens a searchable list of every invoice. Search by customer, or filter by All, Open, Overdue, Paid, Draft, or Void. Each card shows the customer, the status, the total, and how much is still due.
Tap any invoice to open the full detail: the line items, totals, payment status, due date, and any refunds. It is the same information the office sees on the web dashboard, in your pocket.
Manage It Without a Laptop
From an invoice's detail screen, the actions available depend on your role and the invoice's status:
- Edit Invoice — change the line items, discounts, notes, or due date on a draft or open invoice, then save with or without emailing the customer.
- Charge Saved Card — run the amount due against a saved card or bank account on file.
- Record Payment — log a cash or check payment the customer handed you in the field.
- Resend Email — email the invoice to the customer again.
- Void Invoice — cancel an invoice, with the option to email the customer that it was voided.
Editing is meant for invoices that have not been settled yet, so draft and open invoices can be changed while paid and voided ones stay locked. A small set of invoices can only be edited from the web dashboard, and the app will tell you when that is the case.

Who can create or edit invoices from the app?
It follows the same permissions as the web dashboard. Creating, viewing, and editing invoices are each controlled by role, so whoever you have granted invoice access to can do it from the app, and technicians without that access will not see the options.
Can I actually collect payment on the spot?
Yes. When you create the invoice you can charge a saved card or bank account immediately, or send the customer a pay link. On an existing invoice you can charge a saved card, or record a cash or check payment the customer hands you right there at the pool.
Does creating an invoice work offline?
No. Creating, editing, and charging invoices all need an internet connection, since they can move money the moment you submit. When you are offline the app disables those buttons and prompts you to reconnect. Once you are back in coverage, they work again.
Can every invoice be edited from the app?
Draft and open invoices can be edited in the app. Paid or voided invoices are locked, and a small set of invoices can only be edited on the web dashboard. In those cases the app shows a short note explaining why and points you to the web.
