June Quality-of-Life Roundup: A Pile of Small Improvements

A roundup of June improvements in Pool Founder: a full-page task group editor with reorder and job propagation, inventory photos, backdated mileage trips, quieter notifications, portal view tracking, service terms on the pay page, and better email blasts.

A Batch of Fixes You Asked For

Not every update is a headline feature. June was a month of small, specific improvements that customers asked for across the office, the truck, and the customer portal. Here is what shipped.

In the Office

  • Task groups get a full-page editor. Task groups now open on their own page instead of a cramped dialog. Drag the handle to reorder tasks, and when you edit a group that jobs already use, Pool Founder asks whether to push those changes onto every matching job.
  • Email blasts get toggleable recipients and a paged preview. Before sending, you can preview the full recipient list and uncheck any individual customer you want to skip. The list loads in pages as you scroll, so a large customer book stays responsive.
  • You no longer get notified about your own actions. If you skip a stop or reassign a job yourself, Pool Founder stays silent instead of pinging you about something you just did. Notifications about what your team does are unchanged.

In the Field

  • Techs can backdate a manually logged trip. When a tech records a completed trip they forgot to log, they can pick the date it actually happened. The mileage history then buckets it into the correct week and month, not just today.
  • Inventory items and restocks can carry photos. Chemical and part records now support photos, and each restock can attach its own image, so you can keep a receipt or a shot of the delivered stock right on the record.

A backdated trip will not roll your vehicle odometer backward. If the entered reading is lower than the vehicle's current odometer, the trip is still recorded but the vehicle's current reading is left intact.

For Your Customers

  • Configurable email and portal text color. Branding settings now include a text color that sits on top of your brand color, so light logos on dark backgrounds (or the reverse) stay legible in emails and the customer portal.
  • Portal view tracking. The customer page now shows whether a customer has opened their portal, how many times, and when they last did, so you can see who is actually engaging.
  • Service terms on the pay page. When an invoice carries service terms, the pay page displays them and requires the customer to check "I agree to the Service Terms" before the Pay button enables.

Service terms are set as defaults on your maintenance and work order templates. Terms saved there are attached to invoices created from those templates and surfaced on the pay page automatically.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do task group changes apply to jobs that already exist?

Only if you choose to. When you edit a task group that jobs are already using, Pool Founder asks whether to update those matching jobs. If you decline, existing jobs keep their current tasks and only future jobs use the new composition.

Will I stop getting notified about what my team does?

No. The change only suppresses notifications about your own actions. You still get notified when a technician or teammate does something that would normally alert you.

Where do I set the service terms a customer has to agree to?

On your maintenance and work order templates. Terms entered there are saved onto invoices created from those templates and shown on the pay page, where the customer must agree before paying. Invoices without terms, or with terms already accepted, skip the checkbox.

Can a technician still log a trip for today?

Yes. The trip date defaults to today. Backdating is optional and only there for the times a tech needs to record a courtesy or unplanned trip they forgot to log earlier.
